Translation

Deori christains have been using Assamese Bible though they do not understand fully, that's why IEM has a burden to give God's word to Deori people in their heart language so that every ages group of people will understand clearly what God wanted to communicate to them and grow spiritually and closer to God. We started this stranslation work since 2017 through literacy work

We follows different steps in our translation like

  1. Community drafting, in this work we engaged the community to have ownership
  2. Exgegsis and drafting, study the text in source language to understand the meaning and do drating in Deori
  3. Team check, in this all the translation teams are checking together of each MTTs drafted text indivially
  4. Village Testing/Comprehesion check, we take the printed text of the translated portion to the villages people to read the text and asked question to test the translation is undertood or not
  5. Advisor check, translator advisor will read through the translation portion again
  6. Back translation, in this we write again in english or any other language by seeing our main translation for our consultant
  7. Consultant check, in this consultant will check our translation with a person who is not involve in translation work at all including the translation team
  8. Committee review check, in this checking committee will come together and do reading proof and do aproval for printing.
  9. Publication, after all the steps is over then only we can print out the translated book/ portion as for trails copy
  10. Dedication/ or locally release the printed book for the church to read/ use
